TEACHERS'
CORNER
Katherine Bonham is a fibre artist based in Calgary, Alberta. She became a weaver at Olds College Fibre Week in 1993. Having started on a table loom, and graduating to a floor loom, she simplified her practice by settling on a rigid heddle loom; it being economical, portable and easy to use. Along with weaving, she also sews, makes felt and is working on improving her knitting.
Although Bernadette Yuzik considers herself an art quilter, there is very little that she is not more than capable of doing. She has her studio where local ladies have come for lessons.
She has been successful at having quilts juried into Quilt Canada since 2017 and also La Conner, Washington. Have also humbly received ribbons too!
Mona Smith has extensive experience in sewing, machine embroidery, and quilting. With her embroidery machine, she makes beautiful embroidery on fabric and cork resulting in gorgeous purses, bags, and wallets. One of her quilts won the "Visitors Choice" award at the Nelson Quilt Guild.
